Identifying unsubscribed users

Leanplum let's you manage email subscriptions, and you can also look up and monitor users that have unsubscribed from your emails.

Finding unsubscribed users

To see which users have unsubscribed, you can search using a segment in the Users dashboard.

  1. In the Users dashboard, click the Add segment dropdown.
  2. Under User preferences, select Marketing emails.
  3. Edit the where clause to read “unsubscribed from all marketing emails true.”
  4. Click the magnifying glass to search for users in this segment.

You can also change the "true" to "false" in the where clause to identify users that are still subscribed to your marketing emails.

Targeting these users

Because Leanplum tracks unsubscribes as a User preference, you can target users who have unsubscribed for other message campaigns. For example, you could send an in-app message targeted at users who have unsubscribed from marketing emails.

One way to do so is to create a Saved Segment.

Note: You do not need to explicitly target users who are still subscribed when sending new emails. Leanplum does this automatically.
